In 1983, Data Center Design Corporation was founded by a professor-student tandem with a vision of concentrating on the marketing of design and construction of data centers and the supply and installation of computer support systems like Precision Aircon, UPS, Power Line Conditioners, Raised Floor and Access Control System.

The professor, Herman T. Gamboa of STI, STA & SSI fame, and his former student, Ted G. Ignacio, were not novices in the computer industry. Gamboa and Ignacio worked together at Floro Enterprises, the former being V.P. for Computer Services Division and the latter being General Service Manager. The two left Floro with Mr. Vic Floro's blessing to found and run Computer Resources Corporation (CRC), the forerunner of DCDC. This was after they made contacts with LIEBERT Corp., a manufacturer of precision aircon, magnetic synthesizer and other power products. LIEBERT exclusive distributorship was formalized after Gamboa's visit to the LIEBERT factory in Columbus, Ohio. TATE Access Floor distributorship followed soon after. CRC handled the LIEBERT-TATE computer support systems line together with another product line, CADO Systems Computers from Torrance, California.
